SERANGOON CONDO, SINGAPORE

The Client: a very well-travelled British expat bachelor

The Brief: a full service design project covering the living area, master bedroom and guest bedroom, incorporating a large proportion of existing furniture + artwork

The Budget ($-$$$$): $$$

The Inspiration: a masculine, global scheme, with thoughtful use of colour/pattern and plenty of natural finishes from butcher block wood tops to all-natural slubby linen window treatments; modern and simple lines to balance his stunning existing Asian furniture and artwork; a calming and comfortable ‘hotel suite-like’ master

The Verdict: ‘My place feels more personal and full of colour now! Throughout the apartment Elly brought in pieces that reflect my experiences, for instance using artwork and textiles from Indonesia, and I particularly like the artwork wall in my bedroom, which shows a mixture of old and new Singapore. She also managed the budget effectively which I appreciated, focusing on a few key items like my Moroccan bedroom rug and the designer wall light in the living room, both of which I love.’
