PENNSYLVANIA FARMHOUSE, USA

The Client: an extraordinarily well-travelled family of four plus Toto the terrier

The Brief: an e-design project for a design aficionado, covering two floors of an old stone farmhouse: living space, dining room, family room, library and master bedroom; incorporating an extensive collection of Asian and mid-century furnishings and artwork

The Budget ($-$$$$): $$

The Inspiration: an eclectic smorgasbord of colourful Tibetan + Japanese casegoods, Chinese wedding cabinets, Indian textiles and inlay tables; combined with contemporary Eames + Barcelona mid-century goodies and gorgeous old stone walls and wooden beams; neutral textural elements to bind them all together.

The Verdict: ‘Elly worked her magic on our historic home…creating an end product that feels truly personal and unique to our family, and not like a generic, one size fits all home.  Working with Elly, even from across the globe, was painless, fun, and the end results are truly wonderful. I wish I had found her years ago!’
